Canyoneering
One of the must-dos and must-tries at Kawasan Falls is canyoneering. This activity involves trekking, jumping, and climbing through the beautiful canyons and waterfalls of Kawasan Falls. Guided tours by local experts are highly recommended, as they ensure you explore and navigate the area safely.
There are several packages for canyoneering. Solo travelers may choose to go on their own, while other packages can accommodate groups of two up to a maximum of 10 people. A single fee may amount to around P8,800, and this includes access to a tour guide. To select your package, you may visit this link at Klook.
Now, that may sound too much, but take note that this already includes a tour guide. If you want to opt for a cheaper options, you may choose to deal with travel agents there. At the entrance itself, you will be asked to pay P2,100 and this covers all your access to all three levels. Please note again that it is advisable to have a tour guide here as it can be dangerous to do explore everything by our own. As they say, safety first above all else.

Notes
Make the most of your trip to Kawasan Falls by following these important tips:
- Arrive early in the morning, preferably at 8AM, to beat the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful experience. It sometimes gets crowded in the afternoon especially from 2PM onwards. While still manageable, arriving early ensures you get the best experience especially during weekends. Take note that it’s an all-day adventure so it’s really advisable to be there early.
-
Life jackets are not only recommended but also mandatory for everyone, not only for safety reasons but also because it can get really cold around the falls, and you may experience cramps due to this. This is already included in the entrance fee.
-
Public transportation is often the go-to option for people as it’s the cheapest. Fares usually cost around P160 per person, but take note that the weather in Cebu, especially during summer, can be scorching hot — something many travelers find uncomfortable. Another option is riding a city taxi, which may cost you around P2,000 or more. The best option, however, is to rent a vehicle. If you’re traveling alone or with a few friends, Car Rental Cebu City offers sedan and MPV units for you. For larger groups, we also have vans available. Not only is this the most convenient option, but it also allows you to travel from the city proper to Kawasan Falls and back. This saves you time, ensures comfort, and guarantees a safe trip to and from your destination.
- Travelling to Kawasan normally takes 4 hours from the city proper. Traveling by private vehicle may be an hour shorter than that.
-
Motorcycles and scooters can be parked for free at the Sto. Tomas De Villanueva Parish, but 4-wheeled vehicles are required to pay a minimal fee of P50. Keep the receipt, as you will need to show it to security when you leave.
- The trek to the falls can be slippery and uneven, so sturdy shoes are recommended. Wear appropriate closed-toe shoes to avoid accidents.
- Bring enough water, especially if you plan to do more activities beyond canyoneering. While it’s being sold by vendors at the entrance, they are pricier than usual.
- Keep the area clean by disposing of your trash properly.
- The water is normally low during summer season (March to May) so if you’re not into that, try to visit during other seasons.
-
One of the waterfalls, the second one, has a cliff jump, and it explicitly states that visitors are not allowed to jump unless they have a helmet or a guide. This rule applies year-round, but it’s especially important during the summer, as the water level is low during this period, making it unsafe to jump.
-
There are picnic areas all around Kawasan, so if that’s something you want to do, you can bring your own picnic supplies.
